The Latet – Israel Humanitarian Aid Organization was established in 1996 with the objective of providing assistance to populations groups in distress, in Israel and around the world, on a universal and equalitarian basis, by motivating civil Israeli society to get involved in the field of humanitarian aid and thus create social awareness, impart values of mutual assurance and giving and acting to reduce poverty.
Latet is an umbrella organization for 120 local organizations (associations, soup kitchens and social services divisions at local authorities) operating in 80 cities, towns and villages through Israel and in all sectors of the population: Senior citizens, large families and single parent families, new immigrants, etc. The collaboration on the part of Latet with the various associations produces day to day and permanent assistance to more than 50,000 families and 20,000 citizens who live in conditions of dire economic distress.
